In the beginning, I made a promise. This promise was forgotten by Laura, who I made the promise to, but, as it's written in my diary, I had to fulfil it.
Plus Katy never would have forgiven me if I'd not done this.
Ok, she probably would have...
I'm sorry for the beginning of the video. I'd done it over time and time again, and I forgot to pause in between me talking to myself and singing again, and couldn't cut that part out.
I apologise for the props. They made me feel less silly while singing, although I realise they make me look more silly.
Some things you should know before you watch my poor attempt at singing "Get me to the church on time"
1) Laura is a lovely, lovely lady I "met" on twitter, and recently met up in Sheffield where we had lunch and picked up her wedding dress.
2) Kelly is her wedding planner. When she asked Laura what time she would be getting to the venue, she wouldn't accept any answer that wasn't "5 minutes before the start".
3) Laura isn't getting married in a church, she's hoping to have an outdoor wedding (weather, BEHAVE YOURSELF TOMORROW), and have the reception in a lovely barn. Outdoor wedding venue was too long...so I sang barn instead of church.
4) The white towel is supposed to be a veil. No, I don't really know why I used it again and again when I saw it looked silly.
I think I've stalled enough. For what you are about to see, I sincerely apologise. Then again, if you chose to click on the video...I can't say I have sympathy for you :-P
Oh Crysta! We both just sat watching that completely enthralled! What a voice! I had no idea you could sing like that. Thank you so much, you are a complete superstar and amazing. Love xxx
ReplyDeleteI thought amusement would be more the emotion you felt, but I'm glad you both enjoyed it!
DeleteWords cannot express how sad I am that I can't see this on my iPad :(
ReplyDeleteSorry, Roz! I checked it worked on my phone last night, but I had no other devices I could test it out on.
DeleteJust brilliant! Actual brilliant! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Zan. A promise is a promise!
DeleteAlthough I would have forgiven you, I'm glad I don't have to!
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely. I especially love the "veil" and random giggling in the middle. You are very lovely and talented :-D xxx
Thanks, Katy. I contemplated using the netting that's above my bed as a canopy, but I knew I'd probably pull the damn thing off the wall! That towel is the only all white thing I own. The giggling was because I kept saying church instead of barn in previous takes, I was mentally congratulating myself in that take that I'd said barn all the way through...and then I said church.
DeleteThis is brilliant Crysta - you have a gorgeous voice!
ReplyDeleteThank you, everyone has been very kind! As long as Laura enjoyed it, I'm happy!
